#OnePride Twitter’s Nevin Lawson GIF day

by Ty Schalter

Bryce Rossler of Detroit Lions Podcast gave #OnePride Twitter a great gift on Friday: Nevin Lawson GIF Day.

Inspired, perhaps, by the lack of talk around just how good Lawson was in 2016 (and chatter about the role of second-round rookie Teez Tabor), Rossler went to the videotape to prove Lawson has all the traits and production needed to remain a quality starter for the Lions.

The entire thread, and all the attendant .gif files, are embedded below. Fair warning: it will take a while for all of them to load! If you’re having trouble seeing them all, click the date and time on the second Tweet to see it all at the Twitter website.

The end result, though, is more than worth the time; Rossler provides a lot of great analysis and insight to go with all the original video clips.

Lions’ Nevin Lawson: Holding down starting role

Lawson‘s starting right cornerback job seems secure, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Lawson quietly put together a solid 2016 campaign that seemingly went underappreciated due to his lack of big plays. However, the four-year vet served as the Lions‘ top cover corner when Darius Slay wasn’t able to play and finished the year among the league leaders in fewest yards allowed per coverage snap (0.82). It’s possible 2017 second-rounder Teez Tabor could push for a starting gig before long, but, for now, the job appears to be Lawson’s to lose.
